Painting for the Week inspired by trip to South America

After a 3 week trip to South America and falling in love with Buenos Aires and Colonia, Uruguay ( a short ferry ride from Buenos Aires,) I worked on two paintings: one inspired by being by the sea and on the sea and the first painting of a series of Tango dancers, the Sunday Market in San Telmo and the Tango bands. The Tango painting is a bit difficult for me since it involves figures and creating the feel of the tango. This painting is of two couples outside the Balcony Cafe in the square.
The second painting is what i call a pattern painting where i create patterns with shapes and colors. Here i have worked with my favorite subject of the ocean, the sky, trees and birds.
